Duplicating and Finishing

ISO offers a full range of duplicating and finishing services:

  • Color printing
  • Black and white printing
  • Folding
  • Hole punching
  • Binding
  • Trimming
  • Collating
ISO can print anything from a simple, single page, black and white classroom handout to a multi-page, folded and stapled color booklet. The largest paper we can print on is 11 x 17 (tabloid size), and we can print various sized envelopes (no metal clasps). We can also print and prepare multi-page forms on NCR "carbonless" paper.

Copies made from electronically submitted files will print more cleanly than those from hard-copy originals. This is especially true of documents that have gray or color areas.

A separate Work Order form must be submitted with each duplication request, whether the material is submitted in person or on-line.

Work orders may be submitted electronically by attaching your document, along with the Work Order form to an e-mail sent to cbaiso@csus.edu.

ISO will duplicate University related materials only. We will prepare research materials only if time permits, pending review and approval by ISO staff. No research projects will be done during the summer, as ISO has only one staff person during summer sessions.

Priority ISO will process work orders in the following priority order:

- Exams
- Classroom materials
- Forms for program offices
- Correspondence
- Research
Books and
magazines
Do NOT submit books or magazines with pages marked for duplication. Pages from publications must be removed prior to duplication, or you may have copies of the pages made elsewhere and we will duplicate the copies.
Page numbering

Please number all pages! Numbering pages is important because the originals occasionally misfeed through the duplicator and end up out of order.

If your document is created in Word, use the page numbering function. If the document cannot be numbered on the front, then hand-write the numbers on the back of each page.

Color paper Color paper is more expensive than white paper, and the very bright colors ("Astrobright" papers) are the most expensive of all. Classroom materials requested in color will have only the first page duplicated on pastel color paper. Astrobright papers are available in limited quantities and will be used only for special projects such as flyers.
Hard-copy originals Originals should be of sufficiently good quality to produce good copies, i.e., dark text on a clean, light-colored background. Remember - "garbage in, garbage out".
Cut-and-paste If you are providing cut-and-paste originals be sure to tape down all edges, or lines will show up on the copies.
Copyright

We adhere to copyright law (Title 17, U.S. Code) therefore copyrighted materials will be duplicated only if the two following conditions are met:

Written permission from the copyright holder is submitted with the material.

The copyright form available at the ISO counter is signed by the faculty member and submitted with the material. By signing this form the faculty member assumes responsibility for any copyright infringement.
