Sudhir Thakur

Sudhir Thakur is an Assistant Professor in Decision Sciences at California State University, Sacramento. He previously taught at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. He received his doctorate degree from the Ohio State University in Geography. His master degrees are in urban planning and economics from the University of Akron (Ohio) and Punjab University (India). His undergraduate degree is in economics and mathematics from the University of Delhi (India). His research interests are in the areas of economic geography and regional science, regional economic modeling, geographical information systems and spatial statistics. He has teaching interests in land use regulation, real estate development and geographical information systems. He is members of the Regional Science Association International and Western Regional Science Association. He has published in the journals: Structural Change and Economic Dynamics, Asian Profile, and Studies in Urban and Regional Planning. He has presented his research at the United Nations University (UNU)-World Institute of Development Economics Research (WIDER) in Helsinki, and Regional Science Association meetings in North America.
