Welcome Transfer Students!

"Pre-Business"

All newly admitted students in the College of Business are admitted as "Pre-Business" majors (this includes Junior and Senior transfers).   The easiest place to check for yourself is to review the "Unofficial Transcript" in your "Student Center" after you have registered.  As a new transfer student, it should be your goal to change your major from "Pre-Business" to "Business Major as soon as possible.  New transfer students who have completed all of the "Pre-Business" requirements should complete the "Change of Major" form as soon as possible.  For more information about "Pre-Business" requirements, please click on the following link:  What is Pre-Business?

Transcripts

It is important to submit official transcripts to Admissions and Records in Lassen Hall for all coursework completed at the college level. The sooner transcripts are received, the sooner you will receive your General Education "Transfer Credit Evaluation" from Admissions and Records. In order to receive an evaluation from the College of Business, unofficial transcripts should be submitted to the Undergraduate Business Advising Center in Tahoe Hall 1030 as soon as possible.  Admissions and Records will not automatically send transcripts from Lassen Hall to Tahoe Hall (please see Transfer Credit Evaluation (Business Program Review) below).

Transfer Credit Evaluation (General Education) - Lassen Hall

Your General Education transfer credit evaluation can be found in your "Student Center" under the "Degree Progress" link.  This evaluation is automatically completed after all transcripts have been received and summarizes prior college credit indicating Sacramento State general education requirements.  This evaluation will be prepared by the Evaluations Office and mailed to first-time Sacramento State transfer students. Questions about the evaluation should be discussed with the Evaluations Office in Lassen Hall (916) 278-4862. 

Note:  Please note that the "Degree Progress" report in your "Student Center" may not accurately reflect requirements for the Business major.  It is especially helpful for determining remaining General Education and University-wide graduation requirements. Please see "Your Road To Graduation" for additional information regarding General Education requirements.

Transfer Credit Evaluation (Business Program Review) - Tahoe Hall 1030

The Undergraduate Business Advising Center maintains its own imaging system in order to maintain a complete advising file on each of our students.  We do not automatically receive transcripts from Admissions and Records and request that all new Business students drop off unofficial transcripts during or before their first semester at Sacramento State. Once received, we will scan your transcripts, review them for Business courses, and email you a "Business Program Review", which will indicate your remaining Business major requirements.

Transfer students in their first semester who have completed all of the "Pre-Major" requirements and successfully changed their major typically take any of the following courses their first semester:

HROB 101

DS 101
